Paul Giamatti To Possibly Play Rhino in Spidey Sequel

Paul Giamatti (Sideways, The Illusionist, American Splendor) is currently in talks to play The Rhino in Sony’s Amazing Spider-Man sequel. If Giamatti, who has mentioned how much of a fan of the character he is, is cast, then he would be joining an already incredible cast that consists of Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone reprising their roles and Jamie Foxx as the villain Electro. Aside from Giamatti, Felicity Jones is also in discussions for an unspecified role.

In an interview with ShowbizSpy, Giamatti stated, “I thought Rhino was the greatest thing when I was a little kid. It was a guy who was basically in this rhinoceros outfit, and I always thought, ‘Why don’t they have The Rhino in one of their movies.’ But maybe The Rhino wasn’t that big of a deal for anybody but me. If they ever go with The Rhino, I would be ready and waiting.”

I’m a fan of Paul Giamatti’s work, and I think this could actually work. How do you feel?
