For over a decade, David Lapham’s “Stray Bullets” was one of the most widely-regarded independent comics. In an era when mainstream comics were increasingly consumed by foil covers, “extreme” sensibilities, and rising body counts, “Stray Bullets” was a beacon in the darkness.
Today the publisher released a lone teaser image featuring the series’ title on a black background. That’s it.
Image has not announced when the title will hit shelves, and what the nature of the release will be. Given the popularity of the original work, fan speculation is sure to abound.
[UPDATE: 12/16/13 12:37 CST]
Bleeding Cool’s Rich Johnson has theorized, based on data available on the Image website, that one of the publisher’s three “Classified” comics for March will be a $60 collection of the previously released “Stray Bullets” issues.
We will be continuing to update this story as more news becomes available.
