Harry Potter is one of the most beloved characters in modern fiction. It seems strange that, in the age of infinite adaptation in infinite media, that Potter and his cohorts have yet to make their way into the pages of comics books.
That’s all about to change, but not in the way you’d expect.
Potter is set to make his first comics appearance in the pages of the forthcoming Love is Love anthology. The book, masterminded by creator Mark Andreyko, will feature work from creators across the indsutry. Proceeds from the sale of Love is Love will go to support the families of the victims of June’s Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting.
Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling authorized use of the character, and his first comics appearance will be handled by none other than Jim Lee, an industry legend and current co-publisher of DC Comics.
The image features a quote from Hogwarts Headmaster Albus Dumbledore which states “Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open.”
Love is Love will be on comic shop shelves on December 28th, 2016.
