GLAAD Releases Nominees for Best Comic Book

This week, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) released its nominees for the GLAAD Media Awards.

One of the categories this year was Best Comic Book. Here at Capeless Crusader, we feel that books which bravely show people of every walk of life as part of their universe deserve to be saluted. This was quite a banner year for LGBT issues in comics, and most of the landmark moments received nominations. Batwoman is the least surprising of the nominees, having won the 2012 Award. Earth 2, featuring Alan (Green Lantern) Scott, is also less-than-surprising, but possibly presents the strongest and most high-profile character among the selections.

The complete list is below, and we invite you to vote on your selection!

Astonishing X-Men by Marjorie Liu

Batwoman by W. Haden Blackman, J.H. Williams III
DC Comics

Buffy the Vampire Slayer by Andrew Chambliss, Scott Allie, Jane Espenson, Drew Z. Greenberg
Dark Horse

Earth 2 by James Robinson

Kevin Keller by Dan Parent
