Vertigo Announces July 2014 Solicits: Something Old, Something New

In addition to its critically-acclaimed regular titles, Vertigo offers readers something old and something new in the JulyBDS_Cv1_fpo_53557d11a6c4f1.63520186 Solicits.

New series:

Bodies is a multiple murder mystery stretching across four time periods. The story unfolds simultaneously in each issue, with four chapters drawn by different artists. If you’re a fan of the side-by-side storytelling style of Trillium, check this series out.

Vertigo Quarterly: CMYK begins this spring with Cyan (April 30 release) and summer brings Magenta. This anthology features some of the top writers and artists in the industry, including Peter Milligan, Rian Hughes, and Matteo Scalera.

Concluding:

Royals: The Masters of War is a WWII tale where royal blood carries superpowers (the purer the blood, the stronger the powers). After the Blitzkrieg destroys London, one prince enters the war. The non-aggression pact broken, the other world superpowers enter the fight.
Icons and Classics:

Preacher and Lucifer are part of Vertigo’s initiative to re-release the trade paperbacks of the company’s iconic, out-of-print titles. Preacher by Garth Ennis follows a preacher, his girlfriend, and their vampire pal across the US in a search for God and Truth. It is currently being adapted for TV by AMC. Lucifer by Mike Carey follows the character after he abandons Hell in Sandman’s “Season of Mists.”

Mr. Punch 20th Anniversary Hardcover contains extra sketches. If you’re not familiar with the magic of a Neil Gaiman story illustrated by Dave McKean, read this one-shot.
