Having already announced plans to launch a film franchise centered around the Valiant Comics cornerstone Bloodshot, Valiant Entertainment is pushing forward with their next franchise: Shadowman.

According to a report from Deadline, the hard-charging company has tapped veteran television, film, and comics scribe J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5, Amazing Spider-Man) as the man to adapt the character for the big screen.

Shadowman marks the second announced film from the resurgent Valiant Entertainment as they push forward with a brand-wide relaunch which is seeing long-dormant characters emerge from the fog of war that was the 90’s comic book market and struggle to make themselves relevant to a modern audience.

Valiant’s fanbase is a fervent and loyal one, and launching the characters from the page to the big screen should only raise their profile and help to keep them from sliding out of the public eye once again.
