Independent publisher Top Cow Comics (an imprint of Image Comics) announced today that writer Matt Hawkins would be returning in June to pen the second installment of the company’s adaptation of David E. Weber’s Honor Harrington novels.
Unlike the previous volume, Tales of Honor: Bred to Kill will be an original story by Hawkins set in the universe occupied by Harrington and her supporting cast. The first issue of the series is set to hit comic book shelves on June 17th and will feature artwork by Linda Sejic and a variant cover from Rahsan Ekedal (Think Tank, The Tithe)
In addition, the publisher is inviting fans to create their own original super-short stories on Twitter for a chance to win a copy of the collected edition of Tales of Honor Volume 1. The contest requires entrants to take to the social media platform with the hashtag #TOHSweeps and deliver their story in a mere six words for a chance to win.
Will you be submitting to the contest? Let us know some of your ideas in the comments!

RETURN TO THE HONORVERSE IN JUNE WITH
TALES OF HONOR: BRED TO KILL
From the New York Times bestselling science fiction novels by David Weber
Evergreen Studios reunites bestselling science fiction author, David Weber with comic writer Matt Hawkins (THINK TANK) and artist Linda Sejic for an original Honorverse tale and the return of science fiction heroine, Honor Harrington in TALES OF HONOR: BRED TO KILL releasing in June.
To celebrate, Evergreen Studios and Top Cow Productions are giving readers the chance to create their own original Honorverse tale with a special Facebook and Twitter contest. Using the hashtag #TOHSweeps, fans have the opportunity to tell their own original Honorverse story in six words for a chance to win one of six signed copies of TALES OF HONOR: ON BASILISK STATION, VOL. 1 trade paperbacks.
When Captain Honor Harrington and her alien tree cat Nimitz investigate her uncle’s disappearance, the two are forced to fight for their lives in a Solarian space casino battle arena. Honor may be genetically enhanced, but when she’s up against a super race bent on protecting their profitable slave business all bets are off.
“Where the first Tales of Honor arc was an adaptation of one of the novels, this is an original story by myself and Linda Sejic,” said Hawkins. “It’s an honor to add something new to the ever evolving Honorverse mythology!”
TALES OF HONOR: BRED TO KILL #1 provides readers with the perfect jumping-on point for one of the most exciting and dynamic science fiction franchises.
