Three New Members Added to the Cast of Marvel’s Luke Cage

With filming underway for the first season of Marvel’s Luke Cage, we are now starting to see the cast fill out a little bit more.

According to Deadline, Theo Rossi has been cast as a villain on the series, Rosario Dawson will reprise her role as Claire Temple, and Simone Missick has been cast as Misty Knight who will appear as a police detective that reluctantly teams-up with Luke Cage.

Claire Temple who first appeared in season one of Daredevil, is also pegged to appear in Marvel’s Jessica Jones which will be airing on Netflix sometime later this yearIn the comics, she was a love interest for Luke Cage so it is unknown if there will be a love triangle between her and Jessica Jones in either show.

Although unconfirmed, Rossi is rumored to play “Shades” Alvarez, a street-savvy criminal and a former villain of the title character. In the comics, Shades is also the father of Victor Alvarez, the current Power Man. So far, there is no news yet if Victor will be appearing in the show even as a brief cameo.

In the comics, Misty Knight was an ex New York police officer turned private detective with a bionic arm. Its unkown if Missick will still have her arm at the beginning of the show or if she will already have the bionic arm right from the get go. Knight is also a love interest for Danny Rand aka Iron Fist, but there is no news as of yet if he has been cast or for what exactly is happening with the Iron Fist show that is set to come out after Luke Cage.

The cast for Luke Cage currently also includes Mike Colter as Luke Cage himself and Alfre Woodard as Minetta. No word yet if anyone else from the cast of Marvels’ Daredevil or if Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones will be making any appearances in the show.

Luke Cage is currently filming in NYC and is set for release on Netflix sometime in 2016.
