REVIEW: Mick Rory Gets Some Glory at Last in Legends of Tomorrow 2×11 “Turncoat”

REVIEW: Mick Rory Gets Some Glory at Last in Legends of Tomorrow 2×11 “Turncoat”

This week’s episode of Legends of Tomorrow gave me some really good stuff and some stuff I really don’t think I approve of.  I think it was better-written than last week by a significant margin, but where it goes wrong, I feel it really goes wrong.  First, let’s recap: Rip murdered Washington and gave guns to to the redcoats, basically ruining the American Revolution.  Back on board the Waverider, Mick and Ray have a brief interaction, talking about…

RECAP/REVIEW: Legends of Tomorrow 2×10 — “The Legion of Doom”

RECAP/REVIEW: Legends of Tomorrow 2×10 — “The Legion of Doom”

Hey everybody, I’m back with this week’s episode of Legends of Tomorrow, aptly titled “The Legion of Doom.”  While I’m not as excited by this episode in terms of writing as I wish I was, this episode is definitely huge in terms of plot.  Additionally, the emotional subplot of the episode has some genuinely affecting moments, even when the scripting doesn’t do the characters justice. The episode opens with Damien Dahrk and Eobard Thawne recruiting Malcolm Merlyn into…

LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Midseason Finale Brings Back Old Faces!

LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Midseason Finale Brings Back Old Faces!

All right, we’re officially into the midseason hiatus for the entire Arrowverse! Legends of Tomorrow brought the last midseason finale of last week’s crop, and wow. “The Chicago Way” pretty much knocked it out of the park. First, to get it out of the way: HOLY $#%^, LENNY. For those not aware of my proclivities with this show, Leonard Snart, a.k.a. Captain Cold, (played by Wentworth Miller) was my favorite character, and I was really…

RECAP/REVIEW Legends of Tomorrow 2×03 “Shogun”

RECAP/REVIEW Legends of Tomorrow 2×03 “Shogun”

This week’s episode of Legends of Tomorrow, set in feudal Japan and titled “Shogun,” could have been a disaster.  Instead, it has some of the most interesting character drama so far this season, and included an inoffensive heterosexual subplot to boot. The episode opens with Vixen beating up the entire Legends team in order to get to Mick, who she believes murdered Rex Tyler.  Obviously, we know that was Reverse Flash, but she doesn’t know…

RECAP/REVIEW: White Canary Becomes Legends’ Leader in LoT 2×02

RECAP/REVIEW: White Canary Becomes Legends’ Leader in LoT 2×02

Last week‘s episode of Legends of Tomorrow ended with a cliffhanger: The Justice Society of America (or JSA) appeared to arrest our heroes!  Leaderless without Rip Hunter, the team has to decide who will lead them — and White Canary is the natural choice. This week, we pick up with the JSA telling the Legends of Tomorrow that they’re under arrest.  The Legends take that just as you’d expect, and a knock-down, drag-out fight ensues.  The…

REVIEW: Legends of Tomorrow season premier a solid episode of series.

REVIEW: Legends of Tomorrow season premier a solid episode of series.

Legends of Tomorrow premiered tonight, rounding out a four-day slate of 8pm DC superhero shows on The CW.  I tuned in, having followed this show from the beginning, with a lot of excitement. It didn’t disappoint, but to be honest, it didn’t really rock my world, either.  With Hawkgirl and Captain Cold no longer on the team, all of my favorite character dynamics don’t exist anymore.  Additionally, Hawkgirl’s exit means that White Canary has no…

Geoff Johns Teases Future BOOSTER GOLD Plans

Geoff Johns Teases Future BOOSTER GOLD Plans

We live in a golden age of super-hero media, where it seems that literally anything is possible. Had you told the average comic book reader a decade ago that their weekly television viewing schedule would include Gotham, Supergirl, Flash, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Arrow,  and Legends of Tomorrow, you would have been laughed out of the comic shop. The roster expands even further when you factor in independent and out-of-the-mainstream properties such as The Walking…
