REVIEW: Justice League #20 – The League Causes a Disastrous Effect

REVIEW: Justice League #20 – The League Causes a Disastrous Effect

Time paradox stories are, if well-constructed, fun in a puzzle-box kind of way. Bryan Hitch‘s Justice League #20 attempts to take on the fun and mind-bending aspects of this science-fiction staple, and though this opening instalment of the “Endless” arc does at time suffer from clunky story progression, ultimately the issue winds up being an intriguing stab at this kind story with a lot of promise. The issue revolves around the Flash experiencing apocalyptic temporal…

REVIEW: Justice League vs Suicide Squad #2 – Slugfest

REVIEW: Justice League vs Suicide Squad #2 – Slugfest

Justice League vs Suicide Squad #2 deserves some credit for actually delivering on the title concept as early in the miniseries as it does. There are some other events over at other publishers that might draw out a full-bore confrontation for three to five issues (I’m looking at you, Bendis, don’t try to avoid me). Writer Joshua Williamson and penciler Tony S. Daniel are to be congratulated in delivering an action-packed issue that sees these…

REVIEW: Justice League #5 gives a good old fashioned climax

REVIEW: Justice League #5 gives a good old fashioned climax

I’ll start this review by saying this: I suck at starting at #1s.  Seriously, I do.  Last week I reviewed Wonder Woman #6 after not reading anything else.  This week, I jumped into Justice League #5 in much the same way. #1s are great, but I’m really bad at reading them.  I get lazy, don’t pick up issue #2, etc.  Some stories, too, start slow and I bore easily (shoutout to ADHD brain, ugh).  So I jump in…

DISCOURSE DISH: Geoff Johns Comments on Justice League ‘Tone’

DISCOURSE DISH: Geoff Johns Comments on Justice League ‘Tone’

This past Thursday, Geoff Johns made some comments to the Wall Street Journal about Justice League.  These comments focused primarily on comics-accuracy and the intended tone of the upcoming film. Of course, instead of just focusing on those comments, Wall Street Journal proceeded to get its nasty value judgments all over the article.  Regurgitating tired anti-DCEU talking points like reshoots, second-week drops, and the factually incorrect idea that ‘Neither Ben Affleck’s Batman nor Henry Cavill’s Superman…

Today, in an interview first reported by The Wall Street Journal, DC Entertainment President and creative mastermind Geoff Johns announced that actor Joe Manganiello had officially been cast in the role of Slade “Deathstroke” Wilson. The 39-year old actor, who…

Green Lantern Corps Rumored to Feature Three Human Lanterns

Green Lantern Corps Rumored to Feature Three Human Lanterns

Even though the Green Lanterns did not make an appearance in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Bros is still currently working on introducing the ring wielding heroes into their DC Cinematic Universe with the upcoming Green Lantern Corps film. Since there are quite a good number of Green Lantern members just from Earth, we weren’t sure which GL’s the movie would be focusing on but now thanks to some rumors we may have now an idea of…

Ben Affleck Has Written His Own Batman Script

Ben Affleck Has Written His Own Batman Script

Even though the general reception for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been incredibly mixed, most people seem to agree that they at least like Ben Affleck’s portrayal of the Caped Crusader. Now that his version of the character has been established on the big screen, fans should be happy to hear that Affleck has finished working on the first draft for his very own standalone Batman movie. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Patrick Whitesell the co-CEO of…
