After a month of critical praise, Image Comics has announced that “Starlight #1” has totally sold on on the distributor level and will now head to a second printing. Mark Millar’s and Goran Parlov’s stunning new throwback series about a haggard, old space hero hit many powerful notes, reminiscent of Flash Gordon and many other sci-fi tales of old. Now, on the day of the second issue’s release, we finally get the official news that the second printing will be hitting the shelves on 4/30/14 and the second issue “will go back to print to meet customer demand.” It looks like a strong year for fans of Mark Millar, and it bodes well for what’s to come for the newly Expanded Millarworld Universe in the coming months. In the mean time, anyone looking to start reading Starlight might want to consider reading my review from a few weeks back.

Starlight Gains Speed, Fans, and a Second Printing: Issue #1 of the much-anticipated

Mark Millar and Goran Parlov series sells out

The first issue of Mark Millar’s and Goran Parlov’s highly-anticipated new series Starlight has sold out at the distributor level. Starlight tells the tale of Duke McQueen, a retired United States Air Force pilot who once became the hero of a distant world after slipping through a wormhole and overthrowing its cruel masters. Now, decades after returning to Earth and realizing that no one would ever believe his fantastic claims, McQueen is called into action—and space—once again. In order to meet customer demand, Image Comics has slated issue #1 for a 2nd printing.
