Rumors Swirl That Darkseid Will be The Justice League Villain (And Why You Shouldn’t Believe Them)

2385284-darkseid_02Rumors have been circulating around the internet this morning, stemming from a piece on Latino Review, that Darkseid is to be the villain of the forthcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE movie from Warner Brothers/DC.

While this choice appears to make a great deal of sense (given the character’s central role in bringing the League together in present continuity), it is troubling that this is already being picked up by a number of sites, including ComicBook.com, AICN, Examiner.com, and others.

Fans, don’t believe it.

Despite the reasons for believing that it will happen, anything coming from Latino Review should be taken with a healthy dose of salt. This is the same site that “confirmed” a Hobbit Trilogy, “confirmed” that we would see Skrulls in Avengers, and “confirmed” that Marvel’s next film would be a Black Panther film.

In short, you can’t trust a single thing coming out of this site unless you see it independently confirmed by a third-party source.

It’s important that we, as fans, not get caught up in poorly reported rumors, as they will spread throughout the geek consciousness, potentially negatively impacting fan perception of properties and projects long before there is any reason for concern.

In other words, keep it real, Capeless fans. We’ll let you know when something is known for sure.
