Marvel Releases LUKE CAGE SDCC Trailer Online

Get ready for a bulletproof black man strolling the streets of Harlem. Luke Cage is coming.

After teasing the forthcoming release of the trailer yesterday, today Marvel dropped the official trailer for the series. The footage was originally shown only to attendees of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, but with the release just over a month away, Marvel is ramping up the promotional apparatus.

Luke Cage is Marvel’s third Netflix original series, following on the breakout successes of Daredevil and Jessica Jones. The character first appeared on-screen in the debut season of Jessica Jones, but only as a supporting character (albeit an awesome one.)

The series stars Mike Colter in the title role, and will feature appearances by Mahershala Ali as Cornell Stokes and Simone Massick as Mercedes “Misty” Knight. The first season of Luke Cage will also return Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, a character who has crossed between all three of Marvel’s Netflix series to date.

All thirteen episodes of Luke Cage are scheduled to be released on Netflix in the United States on September 30th, 2016.
