New York Comic Con weekend always heralds a deluge of new promo material for superhero and comics properties. It comes as no surprise, then, that with Legends of Tomorrow returning to the small screen next Thursday, the show has released an extended trailer.
Highlights include Sara Lance seducing the Queen of France, Dr. Stein cold-clocking Albert Einstein, and Ray Palmer faced with a selection of samurai in feudal Japan.
The trailer opens with Rex Tyler’s appearance at the very end of last season. He goes on to bring the team forward to meet these of the Justice Society of America. The team includes CW Seed transplant Vixen, who seems to take a role working directly with our main cast. Show fans will likely recognize other familiar faces, including a cameo appearance by last season’s guest star Jonah Hex.
The trailer contains action spanning pretty much the whole of history, and more geography than last season. The team meets the Justice Society of America, including Vixen. Eobard Thawne shows up as a potential major villain, as does Mr. Dark. We also see a zombie Confederate army, and someone blows up New York during World War II.
Finally, during the climax of the trailer, Barry Allen, Oliver Queen, and Kara Zor-El all show up, heralding that upcoming four-way crossover between The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and Arrow.
With the Time Masters gone, Sara says late in the trailer, there are no rules. What this will mean for the Legends — so named by the JSA — remains to be seen. Fans can look forward to finding out, though, and can expect to enjoy the ride.
Legends of Tomorrow premiers Thursday, October 13th, at 8pm on the CW. Considering the quality of this most recent trailer, it’s not an episode you can really afford to miss.
