Published in 2012, Shadow Show: All New Stories in Celebration of Ray Bradbury is an anthology in tribute to the legendary science-fiction and fantasy author and features short stories from acclaimed writers such as Neil Gaiman, Margaret Atwood, and Harlan Ellison. IDW Publishing announced last week that the company will be releasing a comic adaptation, Shadow Show, which will feature a selection of the stories adapted to comic form. The project will be released as a five-issue mini-series with the first issue featuring the story “By the Silver Water of Lake Champlain” written by Joe Hill (Locke & Key) and adapted by writer Jason Ciaramella (The Cape), artist Charles Paul Wilson III (Wraith), and cover artist Gabriel Rodriguez (Locke & Key).
In the announcement on IDW’s website, IDW Chief Creative Officer/Editor-in-Chief Chris Ryall had this to say about the series, “The pairing of Bradbury-inspired stories written by some of the best prose writers working today made for an amazing tribute book, and to see them brought to life by such amazing artistic talents not only helps further Bradbury’s legacy, but it’s making for some damned good comics, too.”
The series is schedule to be released some time this November.
