Frank Miller has announced that he’s taking on Superman.
Frank Miller, more connected to Batman than almost any comic book character in history, is taking on Superman.
While Superman has appeared in many of Miller‘s comic book stories, fans have never been happy with his portrayal. Most notably, the comic creator is known for the showdown between Superman and Batman in The Dark Knight Returns. A lot of fan discussion has come out of it as to whether it was fair to the character. It even inspired Zack Snyder as part of his creation of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The film also divided many fans.
Perhaps in order to deal with some of that fan reaction, Miller has announced that he is working on Superman: Year One. According to his interview with multiple outlets, the story will tell his origin story from the time he was found in a spaceship by Jonathan Kent in a field to the hero he will ultimately become.
The art will be done by John Romita, Jr.
As a huge Superman fan personally, I’ll be looking forward to seeing what he does with the character.
