DC Comics has announced that they will be bring back 3D covers to several of their books during September 2014, as part of the company’s The New 52: Futures End crossover event. Futures End will include a five-year jump forward in time for several books, looking at a possible future for several New 52 characters. The 3D covers, last seen in September 2013’s Villains Month event, will return will even more complex features. As DC Comics Co-Publisher Dan DiDio told Newsrama, the new 3D covers will be even more complex than the previous ones, as they will have a flicker effect—one that shows the character transforming on the page.
