While comic books are a uniquely American art form, Manga has spread around the world over the last twenty years. This is thanks in large part to the global proliferation and skyrocketing popularity of Anime. The partnership between the two art forms is a completely natural evolution, something Dark Horse Comics is banking on with Psycho-Pass.

The Oregon-based independent comic book publisher announced today that they will be releasing a prequel to the hit anime series which will focus on protagonist Shinya Kogami’s life as an investigator.

The original graphic novel will be written by author Midori Goto (Moon) with art by artist/animator Natsuo Sai.

Volume 1 of Psycho-Pass will be available in comic book shops on November 9, 2016.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—From star creator Gen Urobuchi (Fate/Zero, Puella Magi Madoka Magica) comes Psycho-Pass: Inspector Shinya Kogami, the prequel to the blockbuster science-fiction crime drama anime series Psycho-Pass.
