Comic Book Movie BUZZ: Mark Millar Soon-to-be Released Comic MPH Optioned for Film Development

The Millarworld continues to produces multiplatform entertainment! Comics writer Mark Millar is set to release a new title ‘MPH‘ in May 2014, and already has Transformers and G.I. Joe movie producer, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, knocking on his door for this next property.

MPH is the story of a group of hard-luck teens in Motor City who stumble upon a street drug called MPH and gain the power of super speed. The story is described in this way: “Will they use it to save the world? Hell no! Not when there’s dolla, dolla bills to be had, y’all. A high-octane urban adventure, MPH brings you super speed like you’ve never seen before!”

Mark Millar has already had many film adaptions of his comic titles in the Millarworld Universe including Kick-Ass 1 and 2, The Secret Service, Wanted, Nemesis, and StarLight as well as a few unannounced TV projects. Millar’s Ultimates line in Marvel Comics also credited as the inspiration for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is currently the Creative Consultant for 20th Century Fox in Los Angeles, overseeing their upcoming Marvel movies.

Millar says the MPH is the last of his books that comprise his Millarworld of titles.
