Archie Sets Halloween Launch for JUGHEAD: THE HUNGER Ongoing

Things are going to get more than a little hairy for Jughead.

The Jughead: The Hunger one-shot was a great success for Archie. The publisher announced today that they’re going back to the well and launching a new ongoing series under the same name.

The horror-skewed series looks to recapture the same flair and flavor under writer Frank Tieri, who returns for a second run. Tieri also penned the one-shot series, and has said that he “purposely left the door open with the one shot, we told you if you made JUGHEAD THE HUNGER a hit we’d make more.” It appears as though he intends to fulfill that promise.

Since the launch of Afterlife with Archie, the publisher has seen a great deal of success with horror-themed titles featuring some of the best-known characters in American pop culture. The tone set by these books has also helped influence the CW’s Riverdale live-action series, which will enter its second season this fall.

Artists Pat and Tim Kennedy will handle the art chores on the series, which is due out October 25th.
