Disney Casts Alden Ehrenreich as Young Han Solo For Standalone Film

After months of speculations and casting auditions we now know who will play a younger version of Harrison Ford’s iconic character, Han Solo

Deadline has confirmed that Alden Ehrenreich (Hail Caesar!, Blue Jasmine) will star as the title character in the Star Wars Anthology: Han Solo movie.

Not much is currently known about the Han Solo standalone film aside that it will take place, like Rogue One, during the time between Episodes 3 and 4, and will deal with how Han Solo became the roguish smuggler that we first met at the cantina in A New Hope.

The film will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (The LEGO Movie, 21 Jump Street), and is written by Lawrence Kasdan (The Empire Strikes Back, The Force Awakens) and his son Jon.

Star Wars Anthology: Han Solo is currently set for release on May 25, 2018.
